The performance requirements for spindle oil are as follows:

(1) Suitable viscosity and good viscosity-temperature performance

The gap between the spindle and the bearing is very small, the viscosity of the oil should be very low to enter the gap to establish the oil film to lubricate and anti-wear. The oil temperature in the spindle oil operation should rise, and the change in viscosity of the oil in the oil temperature should be as small as possible.

(2) Good lubricity and certain wear resistance

The oil film of the low-viscosity oil is thin, and the oil film is easily broken when the small-gap member rotates at a high speed because the spindle oil should maintain a good oil film, that is, it has good lubricity and certain anti-wear property to reduce the temperature rise.

(3) Anti-oxidation, anti-rust, anti-foaming This is the general requirement of general lubricating oil.

(4) Since the oil is inevitably mixed into the condensed water in the air or the machine coolant during the operation of the spindle lubrication system, the oil is required to have good rust resistance.
